About Therapy

You may know something about psychotherapy or someone currently having therapy or previously encountered it. I describe psychotherapy as a space in which a person can explore and work through any issues, concerns or areas of struggle.

Exploring Spaces Psychotherapy Service provides a contained space for you to address aspects of your life that are challenging and causing distress. An intention of therapy is for you to experience being listened to and support you to explore, without judgement, any difficulties, issues, concerns and struggles with day to day living.

How Therapy Can Work For You

My idea of psychotherapy is mainly but not solely focused on providing a space that fosters the possibility that an individual may embark on an important and sometimes necessary journey of self-exploration and discovery.

It can provide and offer insight and understanding of your life and possibility of personal development, facilitating any desired change. Together we can explore the areas you consider to be of importance and there is no agenda for you to explore or discuss anything you do not feel ready or able to speak about.

Challenges and Difficulties

Often the concerns and issues we face are at times very much part of the challenging and difficult world in which we live. These experiences can impact upon our daily lives making our experience of living in the world difficult, contributing to feelings of suffering and despair.

At times there can be a sense of something being wrong with us, as though the issue or difficulty is somehow located within. It may also be useful to acknowledge there being disharmony and dysfunction within the context, system or the society that we inhabit. My approach to psychotherapy takes these factors along with societal injustices into consideration when exploring the themes that you may wish to speak about and work through.

Speak In Confidence

My approach offers a framework that is confidential and safe enough for you to begin to engage with therapy, either for a short term or longer period where gradually overtime you can develop a sense that this is a process you can learn to trust in and become confident towards.
